A family business based on solid values.

Founded in 1981 and led by the Bender family ever since, the company is headquartered in Zurich, with subsidiaries in Dallas, Luxembourg, Düsseldorf and São Paulo. ACRON has 50 employees in five countries on three continents.

History

  • 1981: Founding of current ACRON Group by attorney Klaus W. Bender
  • 1985: Start of business activities in the United States with an external partner
  • 1988: Launch of first private placement in the United States Opening and registration of Swiss ACRON branch in Zurich
  • 1991: Opening of ACRON’s US branch in Dallas, Texas
  • 1999: Establishment of ACRON (Schweiz) AG; trading as ACRON AG since 2006. Formation of ACRON (USA) L.P. with Greg W. Wilson, President of the company. Establishment of ACRON U.S. Management, Inc. in Dallas, Texas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • 2003: Founding of ACRON Holding AG, Zurich, as a parent company
  • 2010: ACRON Holding AG merges with ACRON AG, Zurich
  • 2012: ACRON do Brasil, headquartered in São Paulo, launches operations in Brazil.
  • 2016: ACRON announces strategic partnership with HFS

  • 2000: First equity investment in Switzerland ― founding of ACRON HELVETIA I Immobilien Aktiengesellschaft, Zurich
  • 2005: Founding of ACRON HELVETIA II Immobilien AG (four-star Steigenberger Alpenhotel and Spa, Gstaad-Saanen) and ACRON HELVETIA III Immobilien AG (T-Systems office building)
  • 2006: ACRON’s 25th anniversary, Launch of 30th US investment, Establishment of ACRON HELVETIA IV: acquisition of building rights to Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport, a 4-star superior hotel, seminar and conference center; sold 2009: all shares in the company generated an annual return (after IRR) of 18.72% for initial investors
  • 2009: Listing of ACRON HELVETIA I, II, and III shares on the BX Berne eXchange
  • 2011: Listing of ACRON HELVETIA VII shares on the BX Berne eXchange
  • 2012: ACRON purchases the Class A office property 10 United Nations Plaza in San Francisco, California; sold in 2014: after a holding period of 2,5 years, the value increase amounted to 35%
  • 2013: Acquisition of Westcenter in St. Gallen, Switzerland by ACRON HELVETIA XI
  • 2016: In January ACRON placed the 5 star Solís Hotel Two Porsche Drive in Atlanta, Georgia. Development of the Navy Pier Hotel Chicago, a luxury hotel on the Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois; Acquisition of Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel, San Francisco, California
